Enjoy Straighter Teeth with Invisalign in Connecticut

Misaligned teeth affect both the aesthetics of your smile, as well as the function of your teeth and jaw and your overall oral health. If you have been putting off orthodontic treatment because you don’t like the idea of traditional metal braces, we can help. The revolutionary Invisalign system uses clear aligner trays to quickly and comfortably transform your smile. If you are tired of living with crooked teeth or are experiencing pain or difficulty chewing because of orthodontic issues, call today to schedule a consultation with one of our Invisalign dentists.

What Is Invisalign Treatment?

Unlike braces that use brackets and wires to adjust the alignment of the teeth, the Invisalign system uses a series of customized plastic aligner trays that fit over the teeth. The trays place targeted pressure on the teeth to gradually shift them into the correct position. You wear each of the aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day for approximately two weeks before moving to the next set in the series. The trays are virtually invisible, so only you and your dentist will know about your treatment.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost at Your Office?

We will go over your Invisalign cost once our dentist has assessed the complexity of your orthodontic needs. Many of our patients find that the cost of their aligner treatment is comparable to the cost of traditional braces. If you have dental insurance, all or part of your Invisalign cost may be covered. We recommend speaking with your insurance provider or one of our office staff to determine the extent of your Invisalign insurance coverage. We also offer financing options and payment plans to help our patients manage any out-of-pocket expenses.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

If you and your dentist determine that Invisalign is right for you, we will work with you to create a treatment plan that will move your teeth to the desired position over a period of months. Your treatment time will depend on the extent that your teeth need to be rotated, repositioned, or straightened. The average treatment time for adults is about a year; however, it can range anywhere from 10 months to two years. The treatment times for teens tend to be more variable. Most of our patients wear Invisalign retainers following their treatment to keep their teeth from shifting out of place.

What Type of Training Do Your Invisalign Dentists Receive?

For the best results, you should consult a dentist or orthodontist who has completed specialized training using orthodontic aligner trays. Our dentists have extensive training and experience using Invisalign and can correct your orthodontic issues as quickly as possible. Call today to schedule a consultation.

Invisalign vs. Braces: Which Is Right for Me?

Invisalign aligners are most effective on mild to moderate orthodontic issues. Traditional braces are still the preferred treatment for extensive or complex spacing, crowding, or alignment issues. Aligner treatment is also not recommended for young children since their mouths are still developing, which makes treatment more complicated. Children may also have difficulty caring for their aligners properly and wearing them appropriately, which can increase treatment time and cost. Our Invisalign dentists will help you find the best treatment option for your orthodontic issues.

Why Choose Invisalign in Connecticut?

Many of our patients choose Invisalign because it is discreet yet highly effective, but the benefits don’t stop there:

  • With Invisalign, you only have to see our dentist every four to six weeks, so there is less worry about rearranging your busy schedule.
  • You can take the aligners out to eat, so you can continue to eat your favorite foods.
  • You can remove the trays to brush and floss, which means better oral health and less chance for tooth decay or gum disease.
  • There are no brackets or metal wires to irritate your mouth and gums.

What Is the Difference Between Taking Care of Invisalign vs. Braces?

Invisalign aligner trays are durable and low maintenance. We do recommend that you clean them regularly using the manufacturer’s cleaning system available at our office or by brushing and rinsing them with cool or lukewarm water. You should avoid using hot water since this could cause the aligner to warp. You should not chew gum while wearing the aligners since it can stick to the trays. You also should not use tobacco products while wearing the aligners since they can stain the trays. If you should accidentally damage an aligner tray, you should contact us immediately for a replacement. A warped or damaged aligner will not work properly and will delay your treatment.
