Add Gleam to Your Smile with Cosmetic Teeth Whitening in Danbury
If you smoke or drink coffee or tea on a daily basis, you probably have noticed that your teeth are not as bright as they were when you were younger. Our teeth whitening procedure is an easy, painless, and affordable way to remove accumulated stains and restore your smile to its former glory.
Why Should I See a Teeth Bleaching Dentist?
Our dentist uses a highly concentrated bleaching gel that is much more powerful than any product available over the counter. This means you will see a dramatic difference in your smile after the first visit. Each step of the teeth whitening process is carefully controlled and monitored to ensure that the experience is safe and that you are completely satisfied with the results.
Is Getting Professional Teeth Whitening in Danbury Right for Me?
Before recommending a teeth whitening procedure, our dentist will examine your teeth to determine the underlying cause of your discoloration. This will help us find the whitening solution that is best for your needs and to prevent unexpected results. Call today to schedule your consultation.
Zoom® Teeth Whitening: Whiter Teeth in One Day
Our office in Bethel is proud to offer Zoom® teeth whitening treatment, which can deliver a smile that’s up to eight shades whiter after just one visit. Zoom is the most requested professional teeth whitening brand in America. It’s also proven to be comfortable for people with sensitive teeth because of its adjustable intensity settings.
Best of all, you can relax in our office while Zoom does all the work.
Our hygienist or dentist first will ensure that you don’t have any cavities or gum disease. Then we’ll assess your current tooth color to determine the duration of your treatment and take impressions of your teeth for custom-made trays. Zoom uses a two-step process of a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel and a special chairside light that enables the gel to penetrate the teeth faster. Treatment consists of three 15-minute sessions for a total time of 45 minutes. In less than an hour, you’ll leave our office with a much-whiter smile.
Does Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Work for Everyone?
The cosmetic whitening procedure is designed to remove stains from tooth enamel caused by smoking or certain foods and beverages. The process is not appropriate for discolorations caused by medications, such as tetracycline, or problems deep within the tooth structure, such as decay. Also, the porcelain and composite materials used for fillings, crowns, and veneers do not respond to the bleaching process. The natural tooth enamel may become lighter, but the restored portion of the tooth will remain the existing shade. Some patients choose to replace their restorations following the bleaching process so they match their new tooth color.
Do You Offer Kits for Teeth Whitening at Home?
If you don’t want to take time out of your schedule to come to our office for a whitening procedure, we offer options for whitening your teeth at home using personalized whitening kits put together by your dentist. We will need to make a mold of your teeth so we can custom fit your whitening tray. Your at-home bleaching kit will also come with professional-grade whitening gel, and we will make sure you understand how to use your teeth whitening kit before you leave the office.
How Much Does It Cost to See a Teeth Bleaching Dentist?
The cost of cosmetic teeth whitening varies from patient to patient. Once our dentist has assessed your unique dental needs, we will provide you with an estimate of your teeth bleaching cost based on the type of whitening system used, the anticipated number of treatments, and whether you will need additional dental procedures. It is important to note that teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure and is not normally covered by dental insurance plans.
What Results Can I Expect with Over-the-Counter Teeth Whitening Products?
Over-the-counter teeth whitening trays, gels, rinses, toothpastes, and strips are very popular and available in virtually any retail or drug store. These products may be suitable for a quick touch-up, but they lack the strength and consistency of professional whitening products. In addition to only providing a temporary improvement, these products can also cause gum irritation or uneven results if used incorrectly. If you want the convenience of whitening your teeth at home, we recommend that you use one of our professional-grade whitening kits.
What Happens During a Professional Teeth Whitening?
Although the exact procedure vary based on the whitening system used, the process typically involves several steps:
- The dentist will examine your teeth to make sure they are healthy and free of any underlying issues that could affect the outcome of the procedure.
- We will prep your teeth by performing a thorough cleaning to remove any debris, surface stains, and tartar.
- We may take pictures of your teeth to serve as a baseline as we monitor the whitening process.
- The dentist will place a painless cheek retractor in your mouth to make it easier to reach all of your teeth.
- Because the whitening gel contains powerful chemicals, the dentist will apply a protective liquid to your gums to prevent them from becoming irritated.
- The dentist will apply the bleaching agent to the teeth. Most patients require several coats. Each coat sits on the teeth for a specified amount of time and is then removed.
- Some whitening systems use a special light to enhance the results.
- After applying several coats of gel, the dentist will check the results and determine if you need further treatments.
